It is only when all hope is lost that Paul addresses his fellow shipmates.557 Much time had passed, the storm had not diminished, the ship was being constantly mauled by the storm, and the passengers had gone a long time without food. 553 The storm was now heavy upon the lumbering vessel, as it came roaring out of the north-east.
